Lewis Chekaluk - CRA

Lewis Chekaluk was a highly respected CRA-designated appraiser known for his exceptional professionalism, sharp valuation skills, and rare ability to thrive on challenging files. He set a high standard through his technical expertise and the genuine care he brought to every assignment. Throughout his career, he built trusted relationships with homeowners, lenders, brokers, and legal professionals, always valuing the human side of the appraisal process as much as the analytical one. Lewis passed away in June 2025 after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. His legacy continues to shape the standards, values, and culture of Ecom Appraisals.

Tanya Chekaluk is the President of Ecom Appraisals and has worked alongside Lewis since 2003, serving as the quiet backbone of the firm’s operational knowledge. With deep industry experience and a steady, detail-focused approach, she oversees workflow, client care, and the day-to-day systems that keep the company running smoothly.

Lead Appraiser
Tracey Smith, AACI, P.App., is Ecom’s lead appraiser and brings over 20 years of experience across commercial, industrial, residential, and land valuations. Known for her sharp judgment and steady professionalism, she handles complex files with clarity and care. Tracey has extensive experience with retrospective, litigation, and insolvency-related assignments, and has mentored numerous appraisers through their designations. Her insight and balanced approach make her a trusted resource for clients navigating detailed valuation requirements.
